Yes, I've been looking for Hadji Murad too, the version translated by Pevear and Volokhonsky. "As long as 'War and Peace' " is a comparison understood even by people who have never cracked its covers. I highly recommend the Pevear and Volokhonsky translation. This translation is ideal because it sticks as closely to the text as possible. The list would have been a little more helpful if they had included the publisher The Pevear and Volokhonsky translations of Tolstoy's works, they say, goes a long way in diminishing the intimidation factor of Leo Tolstoy. I think it was published in a book of several short Tolstoy novels. I hope to find the time to read the recent translation by Richard Pevear and Larissa Volokhonsky.
